The Baby Comfy Care company is a husband and wife team that developed products they wanted to use for their own children. Their products include the best nasal aspirator, teething jewelry, sun poncho, sun sleeves and safety nail clipper. I had the opportunity to choose several products to review. I chose the nail clipper, sun poncho and teething necklace.
The Baby Comfy Sun Poncho comes in 2 sizes that are fairly flexible, due to its loose fit. 1-3 years and 4-7 years. My grand daughter is almost one, so we chose the smaller size. They come in several cute colors and patterns, too. I chose the pink polka dot for Ava.
As a nurse, I am very concerned with safety and especially sun safety! Doctors do not recommend using sunscreen on babies. They say to never use it on babies under 6 months of age, but, even under 2 years old it is better to keep your child covered or out of the sun. Ava is very fair with blue eyes like her Mommy. The sun poncho is a perfect item for my son and daughter-in-law to use when Ava is out in the sun. The poncho acts as a high-tech UPF of 50+, whether it is wet or dry. It protects a child’s head, neck, arms and torso from the sun. Ava thought it was pretty fun to try it on and didn’t even try to pull the hood off her head! We loved the design, it folds up into its own little pouch. It retails for $29.99.
The teething necklace came in 7 fun colors to match almost any outfit! I chose the black one, which was called, “goth.” The gummy-like necklace has little nubs all over its surface, which feel great to a teething baby. Ava is working on getting her front teeth and enjoyed chewing on the necklace. I thought it looked chic and stylish, even if I didn’t have a teething grand daughter! Our friend, Claire, modeled the necklace with Ava. The Baby Comfy Gummi necklace retails for $12.99.
The Baby Comfy Nail clipper has a unique safety feature of having only one blade, which makes it unable to cut skin and only cut the baby’s nail. It has a cool chunky design, which makes it easy to hold. My son’s experience was that this nail clipper was so safe that it didn’t cut skin…or nails. Ava’s Mommy then tried it on herself and it wouldn’t cut her nails, either. They did notice that the bright, colorful design captivated the baby so much, that it was hard to get her to hold still to try to clip her nails, all Ava wanted to do was play with the clipper. We were disappointed that it didn’t seem to work for us. The Baby Comfy nail clipper retails for $14.99.
