REVIEW – Neat Zori Orthotic Sandals

It’s summer time, which means sandals. Recently I got to try a new type of sandals – the Neat Zori Orthotic Sandals.

Zori Orthotic Sandals

ABOUT ZORI

Zori is derived from a type of traditional Japanese footwear. Our modern sport version “Neat Zori™” are the most comfortable, convenient, and versatile footwear on the planet.

Neat Zori™ Sport Orthotic Slip-Ons can get wet with no problems and dry rapidly. They let your feet breathe naturally. Conventional shoes bind you, crushing the toes together, potentially warping the shape of your feet and trapping moisture in place leading to unhealthy foot conditions.

Neat Zori™ are healthy, lightweight, stylish and inexpensive. They are a sports-orientated, ergonomically soled slip-on with a V-shaped thong. The thong runs between the big toe and the rest of the foot and so keeps the slip-on securely in place. Neat Zori™ are made of high-quality rubber, with padded straps and a tough nylon toe piece with proven orthotic benefits.

You’ll never want to take them off!

MY THOUGHTS

Neat Zoris are made of high-quality rubber with padded straps and a tough nylon toe piece. I don’t usually wear a thong type of sandal because most of the time the toe thong is uncomfortable. In that respect, these sandals weren’t too much different then any other thong sandal that I’ve worn. It took over a week for the thong to break in enough that the space between my toes didn’t hurt.

I received a pair of the Zori Orthotic Sandal in size 10. Sizing is stated as unisex, but since size 10 is my size in mens sandals and sneakers you’ll have to decide for yourself. My feet fit just right, if my feet were bigger they would not have fit.

As far as the part your foot sits on top of (not the sole on the bottom), that’s completely different then other thong sandals. The sandal has a built in insole that is arched and stabilizing. I did like the way they felt when I walked in them, it was a much more comfortable feel then that of the flat bottom thong sandals that I’ve tried. My feet felt like they had much more support. Also, in the past I have found that if I wore shoes with no support for a period of time that after a while my feet would be sore and tired. The arched insole was more like that of a shoe then a thong sandal, which was great. The orthotic design should be more comfortable for people with back pain as well. The sandals cleaned up well, all I had to do was wipe them off with a baby wipe and they were good as new. If you like thong sandals but want a bit more support you might like these.

Zori Sandals are available in red or tan, in sizes six to 12. They can be found at Duane Reade, Navarro and Raley’s stores and online for $49.95 – $55.

REVIEW – Dr Andrew Weil Integrative Footwear

Dr Weil Footwear Logo

I HATE shoe shopping, because I have huge, wide feet. Even after losing 200 pounds I still can’t find women’s shoes that fit. As a result, I will have to do most of my future shoe shopping online I suppose. This past week my inexpensive cork summer sandals started coming apart – after wearing them for less than one month. In this case I guess I got what I paid for, although a low price shouldn’t mean low quality. I received a pair of Dr Andrew Weil Integrative Footwear sandals as a gift. I was most curious to see how I’d like them as I was not familiar with the name.

MY THOUGHTS

I received a pair of Journey sandals. While they are sold as men’s sandals, I think they look unisex.

My huge feet in my new sandals.

Dr Weil Shoes On Side

I liked that the sandal has adjustable leather uppers, letting me adjust the fit so that the sandal was most comfortable on my foot. I really like the construction of the shoe. I feel like I have a lot of support under my instep, something I’ve never felt with inexpensive sandals. I also find that my feet aren’t sliding around like they frequently have in inexpensive sandals, I believe this is due to the textured footbed. I feel quite comfortable in these sandals.

If you’re looking for a high quality sandal or have foot problems that cause you discomfort you might be interested in trying out this line of footwear. Dr Weil’s Integrative Footwear is available for purchase online and in select stores, check the product locator to find a store near you.
