Tuck In & Turn Off with The Sweet Dreams Collection!

Complimentary admission to this event was provided. Please note that, as always, any personal opinions reflected in this post are my own and have not been influenced by the sponsor in any way.

I was invited to this event and as much as I really wanted to go I unfortunately could not. Fellow Tristate Blogger Krista of The NYC Talon was kind enough to stand in for me. This is a guest post written by Krista. All of the photos are hers and used with permission.

This morning I joined P&G’s Tide, Bounce, and Downy in Grand Central Station’s Vanderbilt Hall to talk sleep (one of my personal favorites) and learn a bit more about their new Sweet Dreams Collection. As a New Yorker (and blogger) living in the city that never sleeps I have to admit getting a full 8 hours is a challenge. Since I’m always on the go, it’s hard for me to wind down and relax. Well, P&G’s Sweet Dreams Collection is designed with sleep in mind!

 P&G Downy Sweet Dreams collection

I loved the setup – it reminded me so much of A Midsummer Night’s Dream! It was really beautiful and line smells fantastic – soft and comforting, I love it!

P&G Downy Sweet Dreams collection

Dr. Ian Smith spoke to us about the importance of a good night’s sleep and how it affects everything from our productivity to our happiness and even our BMI. He suggests turning off all electronic devices at least half an hour before going to bed – he says it’s one of a few simple solutions for jumpstarting sleep’s restorative process.

P&G Downy Sweet Dreams collection

He and lifestyle expert and mom, Jeannette Kaplun, both agree that another simple but effective solution for getting the most out of your slumber is creating an ideal sleep environment – which means washing your bed linens with clean relaxing scents, like the one’s found in the Sweet Dreams Collection.

P&G Downy Sweet Dreams collection

The Sweet Dreams Collection includes Tide plus a touch of Downy Sweet Dreams, Downy Unstopables Dreams, Downy Infusion Sweet Dreams, and Bounce Sweet Dreams. Right now you can begin your bedtime routine in the laundry room and make a commitment to a better sleep routine by taking the “Tuck in. Turn off.” Pledge here!

Do you have problems falling asleep? Please leave a comment!

Celebrate The Olympics And Moms With P&G And Costco – And A Giveaway

P&G Costco Thanks Mom

My Mom has always tried to help me be my best person. She worked hard to make sure I had a decent life growing up. She loved and still loves me with all her heart. She tried hard to teach me right from wrong. She taught me the value of a good education. She taught me to always try to say what I mean. From Scouts to soccer to swim meets, she was there. That’s what good Moms do. And it didn’t stop when I became an adult. She’s always there to provide an ear or a shoulder. Heck, she even reads both of my blogs every day. Thanks Mom. You’re a wonderful Mom and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

As you probably know, the Olympics kicked off this week. P&G, the Proud Sponsor of Moms for the London 2012 Olympic Games, is celebrating moms around the world and saying “Thank you, Mom.” Two people they are recognizing are three-time Olympian and World Champion Water Polo Player Brenda Villa and her mom, Rosario. Brenda has become the successful water polo player that she is because of the support from her mom. As Brenda began to excel at water polo, her mom, a Mexican immigrant, encouraged her to pursue her goals and dreams in a completely unfamiliar sport. When raising children, especially athletes, Rosario gives this advice to moms “Encourage them, support them and allow them to follow their dreams. Make sure you give them the confidence to follow their own values and beliefs and stay true to themselves.” Recently P&G hosted a special send off celebration for the Olympian and her mom at a Los Angeles Costco Wholesale warehouse to remind shoppers of the important role that moms play in helping their children reach their full potential. To keep that celebration and thanks for moms everywhere going, P&G has put together a special prize pack for this giveaway. The prize pack contains brands that are known to perform well and are all available at everyday reasonable prices at Costco.

Dollar General Everyday Heroes – With Prize Pack Giveaway

Dollar General Everyday Heroes

Who do you consider to be your hero? I consider my Mom to be one of my heroes, although I don’t tell her how I feel nearly often enough. She is honest and fair, she’ll tell you when you’re mistaken just as quickly as she’ll praise you and tell you when you’re right. She doesn’t sugar coat things, and you always know where you stand. She is a great believer in doing what’s right. She sacrificed a lot when I was a child. She would do anything within her capabilities to support her children and grandchildren, whether right or wrong she loves us.

Dollar General has an Everyday Heroes program that honors mothers. Throughout the month of May, in recognition of moms who do extraordinary things every day for their families and communities, Dollar General is teaming up with Procter & Gamble to honor moms – the true Every Day Heroes who have made sacrifices for their families and their communities. To celebrate moms, Dollar General is inviting customers to upload videos describing why their moms are “Every Day Heroes.” Videos can be submitted and viewed at www.dollargeneral.com/everydayheroes. If you think of your Mom as your hero, there’s still time to submit a video, you can do so until May 31.

Dollar General is currently offering an Olympic Training Center contest. There are also instant win prizes including five Panasonic flat screen TV’s and 500 $10 Visa Gift Cards. When you purchase participating products you receive a code to enter. There is no purchase necessary, simply click on “Don’t have a code” and follow the instructions if you don’t have one. The Grand Prize is a trip for four to the US Olympic Training Center. You can enter to win prizes from April 23 to May 31. Go to www.dollargeneral.com/everydayheroes to enter.
