It’s summer time, which means sandals. Recently I got to try a new type of sandals – the Neat Zori Orthotic Sandals.
Zori is derived from a type of traditional Japanese footwear. Our modern sport version “Neat Zori™” are the most comfortable, convenient, and versatile footwear on the planet.
Neat Zori™ Sport Orthotic Slip-Ons can get wet with no problems and dry rapidly. They let your feet breathe naturally. Conventional shoes bind you, crushing the toes together, potentially warping the shape of your feet and trapping moisture in place leading to unhealthy foot conditions.
Neat Zori™ are healthy, lightweight, stylish and inexpensive. They are a sports-orientated, ergonomically soled slip-on with a V-shaped thong. The thong runs between the big toe and the rest of the foot and so keeps the slip-on securely in place. Neat Zori™ are made of high-quality rubber, with padded straps and a tough nylon toe piece with proven orthotic benefits.
You’ll never want to take them off!
Neat Zoris are made of high-quality rubber with padded straps and a tough nylon toe piece. I don’t usually wear a thong type of sandal because most of the time the toe thong is uncomfortable. In that respect, these sandals weren’t too much different then any other thong sandal that I’ve worn. It took over a week for the thong to break in enough that the space between my toes didn’t hurt.
I received a pair of the Zori Orthotic Sandal in size 10. Sizing is stated as unisex, but since size 10 is my size in mens sandals and sneakers you’ll have to decide for yourself. My feet fit just right, if my feet were bigger they would not have fit.
As far as the part your foot sits on top of (not the sole on the bottom), that’s completely different then other thong sandals. The sandal has a built in insole that is arched and stabilizing. I did like the way they felt when I walked in them, it was a much more comfortable feel then that of the flat bottom thong sandals that I’ve tried. My feet felt like they had much more support. Also, in the past I have found that if I wore shoes with no support for a period of time that after a while my feet would be sore and tired. The arched insole was more like that of a shoe then a thong sandal, which was great. The orthotic design should be more comfortable for people with back pain as well. The sandals cleaned up well, all I had to do was wipe them off with a baby wipe and they were good as new. If you like thong sandals but want a bit more support you might like these.
Zori Sandals are available in red or tan, in sizes six to 12. They can be found at Duane Reade, Navarro and Raley’s stores and online for $49.95 – $55.
