We still have a land line. I refuse to give it up. I consider my cell phone to be for personal enjoyment and for emergencies. If it rings I always answer it because I know I want to talk to the person on the other end of the line. How do I know? That’s simple. I don’t give my cell number to many people. Most people have my house number. All companies I do business with have my house number. Now with the house number being the one given out for most purposes, I need a way to handle the calls that come in on it. The VTech CS6829 Cordless Telephone And Answering System handles things very nicely.
The VTech CS6829 Cordless Telephone And Answering System comes with one cordless telephone and its base. It can take four additional handsets easily, and those don’t even require a telephone jack to function. The base has a built in digital answering system that will store up to 14 minutes of messages, and it can be turned on or left off depending on your preference. You can tell how many messages there are by the backlit message counter. A digital answering system means there are no tapes to worry about rewinding or replacing. You can retrieve your messages from the machine either from the handset or remotely. The telephone has the option to turn Call Screening on or off, if it is on you will hear the person leaving their message and have the opportunity to answer the call if you want. The handset, which is surprisingly light, also has a voicemail waiting indicator, in case you have voicemail through your telephone service provider.
I love Call Waiting, it is a feature that I am unwilling to live without. The handset has built-in Caller ID/Call Waiting. When the phone rings, the handset displays the name and telephone number of the person calling you. The memory will store your 50 most recent calls. If you return home and look at the display, it will show the time that the calls came in, along with the caller’s information. If you speak to the same people frequently you can store their information in the phonebook directory, which can hold 50 names and numbers.
As I use my land line a lot for calls to companies, I find that I’m either navigating automated systems or getting put on hold a lot. The CS6829 handles this with ease through the use of its built-in speakerphone. On hold for 10 minutes and need your hands to stir dinner? Not a problem with this phone. Whether using the handset or the speakerphone, the phone has delivered clear sound, courtesy of its DECT 6.0 digital technology. You remember back in the day when cordless phones first came out and you could get interference from your neighbor’s phone? DECT digital technology makes sure that doesn’t happen.
The handset has a backlit keyad and display, which you will know is helpful if you’ve ever tried to make a call in the middle of the night and weren’t able to see what buttons you were pressing. The phone has an ECO Mode, which will help conserve power and enable the phone’s battery to last longer and perform its best. You can adjust the volume of the phone on the handset. The phone has a quiet mode, which when activated silences the ringer both on the handset and the base.
The VTech CS6829 Cordless Telephone And Answering System is available for purchase exclusively at Walmart, with a current retail price of $24.88. If you wish to add any additional handsets you must purchase those handsets separately.
