For many years I got sore throats frequently, often accompanied by cough. During those years I was working in buildings where many people came and went, so I often thought that it might have something to do with ventilation and cleaning. That’s why I could always be found carrying cough drops. Recently I was offered the opportunity to try a new cough drop – Ricola Dual Action Cough Drops.
ABOUT RICOLA DUAL ACTION COUGH DROPS
Ricola Dual Action is the first multi-symptom cough drop from Ricola. It combines menthol – a natural oral anesthetic – and a soothing cherry syrup center with Ricola’s proprietary blend of Swiss herbs to help provide naturally effective relief for cough and sore throats. Great tasting Ricola Dual Action is made with all-natural ingredients and is designed to be taken as often as needed.
I received samples of Ricola Dual Action Cough Drops. Ricola Dual Action Cough Drops come in a bag of 19 drops. The red cough drops come in sealed wrappers, not the plastic wrap that twists shut that some cough drops come in. The taste is sweet without being sugary. The menthol isn’t overpowering like some but I could definitely tell it was there when I took a breath. All in all it’s a very nice flavor. Ricola Dual Action Cough Drops are available for purchase nationwide at most food, drug and mass retailers with a suggested retail price of $2.49. Other Ricola products include Ricola Cough and Throat Drops, Ricola With Vitamin C, and Ricola Sugar Free.
RICOLA FROM SWITZERLAND WITH CARE PROGRAM
With cold season quickly approaching, Ricola has launched the From Switzerland with Care program, which offers a variety of innovative new social media resources to deliver real-time relief to people battling coughs and colds this winter.
“Just as every one of our cough drops is made with the care you’d expect from a third-generation family-owned business like ours,” said Felix Richterich, Ricola president and grandson of founder Emil Richterich, “the From Switzerland with Care program on Facebook and Twitter provides a unique way for people to show their friends and family just how much they care. With winter cough and cold season approaching, it’s nice to know you have the support of those close to you.”
- On Twitter, via the newly launched @RicolaUSA, Ricola will monitor for unique tweeters suffering from coughs, colds and sore throats and offer special From Switzerland with Care care packages that include a pack of the new Ricola Dual Action and a get-well card.
- On Facebook, at www.facebook.com/ricola, Ricola fans can offer under-the-weather friends “Get Well Soon” wishes in the form of coupons for Ricola’s first-ever multi-symptom Dual Action drops, as well as explore the rich story behind how the brand’s proprietary blend of all-natural herbs are grown and cultivated. Visitors can even download ring tones featuring the one-of-a-kind “Riiiiiiiicolaaaaa” call.

Did you know that only five people in the world know the secret recipe for Ricola cough drops? While many know and love the “Riiiiicolaaa” brand, few know the story behind it. Here are some quick facts, and you can learn much more about Ricola on Facebook:
The founder of Ricola, confectioner Emil Richterich, started producing Ricola drops in the 1930s, delivering them by hand around his tiny hometown of Laufen, Switzerland until demand grew strong enough to compel him to purchase a bicycle.
· He established Richterich & Company in Laufen, which is where the name Ricola comes from: RIchterich & COmpany, LAufen (RI-CO-LA).
It’s all in the family – the current President of Ricola, Felix Richterich, is Emil’s grandson!
ONE winner will receive two packages of Ricola Dual Action Cough Drops.
