One of the two channels my youngest son watches regularly is Sprout. Not long ago he saw some short bits featuring characters called The Pajanimals. They sang a lullaby, and after seeing it a few times I’d often find my son trying to sing along. So. Darned. Cute. I wondered about The Pajanimals, I didn’t really know much about them as the clips ere only a few minutes long. I am happy to say I know more now, after watching the Meet The Pajanimals DVD that was just released.
ABOUT MEET THE PAJANIMALS
Introducing CowBella, Apollo, Sweetpea Sue, and Squacky – four friends who snuggle together every night to sing sweet night time songs to their preschool friends at home. Through their imaginary journeys, these cuddly friends discover fun ways to transition from playtime to bedtime. Join the Pajanimals for a magical adventure that encourages a nightly routine.
- Blankie in the Laundry
- Home Sweet Home
- A Colorful Problem
- Puppy Love
The Pajanimals are colorful, and rather endearing. The DVD is about 45 minutes long, and is broken up into individual stories. I like that the stories each help teach something, they encourage friendship and skills needed to grow up. Blankie in the Laundry is written to help children learn to overcmoe separation anxiety. Home Sweet Home encourages responsibility. A Colorful Problem encourages teamwork. Puppy Love promotes sharing. All of these things are typical things that many of our children deal with as they are starting to grow up. My son enjoyed all of the episodes. I did too, but my favorite one was Home Sweet Home, because watching the characters decide what to pack for a trip was cute and funny.
My son has completely fallen in love with this DVD and it’s become one of his favorites. Every night he sings the La-La-Lullaby song when he goes to bed. This is how that one goes, in case you aren’t familiar with it.
He loves this DVD much that he fell asleep looking at it on the first night, and then took it to school the next day. Seriously.
When I received this DVD I learned that there is a Pajanimals Light in the Sky app available on iTunes for $4.99. I haven’t bought it yet but likely will. Here’s some info on the app.
The new PAJANIMALS “Light in the Sky” app, priced at $4.99, is another wonderful way for your young ones to experience the PAJANIMALS up close and personal. Now available from the App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, this app allows your children to play and sing along with this fully 3D, highly interactive episode based on the actual show. Kids can poke, tickle and swipe as they discover all the fun toys they can play with in the Pajanimals’ room. They can also feel the rhythm while tapping along with their favorite Pajanimals’ songs. The PAJANIMALS “Light in the Sky” allows youngsters to blast off in a rocket ship to visit the moon, set off fireworks and shooting stars in the night sky, play kickball with the Pajanimals, make their own melodies with musical stars and clouds; tickle the Pajanimals to make them laugh; and match the Pajanimals with their favorite toys. And of course they can help the Pajanimals “stick to the plan” by brushing their teeth and getting ready for bed. Other features include the ability to turn subtitles on to read along with the story, and you can even gift the app to a friend from within the app.
