Carmex has a new flavor just in time for summer!

Carmex Summer

ABOUT CARMEX

Carmex® lip balm was invented in 1937 by Alfred Woelbing, literally on the family stovetop. For the next 20 years, Alfred and his wife made Carmex by hand and poured it into the familiar yellow-capped jars.

Eventually production moved out of the Woelbing home and into a rented facility in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where it remained until the move in 1975 to its current site in Franklin, Wisconsin.

Carma Labs employs about 100 people and is still owned and operated by the family: Alfred’s grandsons Eric and Paul Woelbing. The Woelbing stove is now used for cooking things the family can actually eat.

MY THOUGHTS

I received a Carmex kit featuring six Carmex sticks with an SPF of 15 and a summer tote. I admit, I usually associate chapped lips with winter and not summer. Not that I’m outside a bit more having chapped lips from hot and humid summer weather is something I have to think about. Sunburned skin is painful., I don’t want sunburned lips either. Carmex lip balms go on very smoothly. The Pomegranate flavor was good but my favorites are still Cherry and Strawberry, then the Vanilla. I like that Carmex lip balm is water resistant. These are the perfect item to keep in your pocket and purse year round in order to help prevent chapped lips.

Carmex products are available nationwide at retail locations such as Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, as well as online.

  2. during the summer, we tend to use up the winters stock of lip balm. Absolutely, I overbuy for winter where lips take a beating and each coat pocket is stocked. Currently using lime twist which is wonderful.

  3. I always use a carmex product with SPF 15+, a must as you don’t want blistered lips post a day at the beach! The original carmex ointment is really good though if you get sun induced cold sores.
