Primary is a children’s online clothing store that offers clothing for little girls, boys as well as babies. When I ordered I was very pleased with how fast the shipping was. They are located in NYC and I live in NY state, so that could be partly the reason. But in saying that I still feel their processing/shipping time was quick.
About Primary.com
As their “about” page mentions “it’s a basic” story, but to me its so much more. Two Mom’s that had shopped for their children’s clothing for 12 years got tired of not being able to find basic clothing for their children. They mention that ‘back in the day’ if you couldn’t purchase it, you made it. So that is what they started doing. Although their styles maybe “basic”, none of their clothing needs dry cleaning or makes your child look like they are going to a fancy party. They look comfortable enough to go outside and play, or presentable enough to go to a friend’s birthday party. Their concept, I feel is wonderful and enjoyable to read. Feel free to go to their about page and read about how Gayln and Christina’s business started.
My 4-year-old granddaughter LOVES dresses. When I ordered the clothing to review, I ordered Emma 2 dresses :the reversable sundress, the dress in cobalt and the a the tank in slate gray, the under short in navy and the cardi in heather gray. Emma seems to have the same pose in the dresses, I guess this is her modeling pose for now.
The reversible dress above is the vibrant raspberry and the reversible part is a deep navy-ish blue. I love the concept as it in literally like 2 dresses in one. The straps are adjustable with a button on each side and the strap slide to tighten. Emma exclaimed when I took it out of the packaging that is was “just beautiful Grandma”. The dress is made of 100% cotton poplin.

Emma loves the dresses but informed me she wouldn’t be able to wear the cardi til it was colder or the tank/under short outfit until it was warmer, so I am including those pictures above and below from the Primary website.

Price and selection are the parts I dislike the most.
The worst part of shopping for clothes is my daughter’s distinct style (yes, she is only 6, lol!). She’s just so picky already!
I hate the fights. What I like, she doesn’t. And If I buy what I like, she won’t wear it.
How impatient they get trying things on
Figuring out sizing on seasonal things, when buying ahead of time, is probably what I like the least about shopping for children’s clothes.
I hate how quickly he grows out of things. I have a very long and lean son who grows out of things in length, but they are still too big around!
I dislike that so many makers of girl’s clothing don’t have styles that make sense for little girls. Why do they make clothing for children that looks like a 21 year old with bad taste would wear it in a larger size?
finding appropriate clothing with no logos or sloagans that are priced well! drives me nuts
The sizing drives me crazy — it is so inconsistent from brand to brand.
The most complicated thing about clothing is manufacturer sizing–girls/boys, toddler, young, teen–need a better guide.
I can’t buy anything for my niece because her size changes so fast and I am never up to date
The cost and I can always find more for my daughter then my son.
The size of clothing & the shoes…I found it complicated most of the time
