Paper Shouts review and giveaway

Listen closely. Paper Shouts. Yes I can speak a little louder. PAPER SHOUTS!  If you haven’t heard of Paper Shouts before reading this you surely would have soon. That’s because Paper Shouts is making quite a ruckus in the world of personalized stationery. Fitting, considering their motto is Why whisper when you can Shout? It’s no wonder why their mission and products proclaims loudly “look at me”!

From the website:Paper Shouts was created with the mission of giving people a way to share their family news that is not only easy and cost effective but with an end result that is as fabulous and personal as the events themselves. We believe the design of an invitation or announcement should be an extension of the personalities of our customers, so we have created a unique set of designs to reflect individual styles. Our customer can now feel good about sharing their news with family and friends in a very personal way while still being environmentally friendly.

Paper Shouts, whose tagline is “posh notes for life’s big moments”, carries personalized stationery for most of life’s special events and occasions including holiday cards, birth announcements, bridal shower and wedding invitations, invitations for all sorts of parties, thank you cards, note cards, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Quincinera and graduations. They have traditional, vintage and modern styles with so many choices that any shopper is sure to find a style to suit their taste. What makes Paper Shouts different is that their products are printed on 100% PCW (post-consumer waste) premium 110# uncoated heavyweight paper. Their envelopes are 50% recycled.

This week Paper Shouts announced that a percentage of the proceeds from sales of holiday cards will benefit the Our City Forest (OFC), which is an organization dedicated to creating and maintaining a greener and healthier environment while fostering a stronger sense of community through planting.

Also, for the holidays Paper Shouts is offering sets of 15 personalized note cards for under $25. They’d make a great gift for teachers

Kristin at Paper Shouts was kind enough to send me samples of several styles of holiday cards that they offer. The paper is very thick and sturdy. The texture feels very smooth. The images were clean and of photo quality. The fonts were all clear and easy to read. I tested the online ordering process on their website and found it very easy to use. Pick your card, upload your photo, customize the card and you’re finished.

  3. I like the Holiday Snowman card.
Green tip: We recycle everything we can, use products (like paper products) that have been recycled whenever possible, we use those funny looking lightbulbs and we use canvas bags to shop.

  4. I love the Chocolate Candy Stripe.
My tip is that I unplug the cell phone charger when it’s not charging anything because it uses about the same amount of electricity just being plugged in.

  5. I like the Spa Blue Christmas Snowdrift card.

My green tip is to invest in one of the reusable shopping bags most stores sell now for around a buck. Pass on the plastic messes!

  6. My favorite is the Cranberry Holiday Wrap. It is so pretty. My green tip is to re-use everything until you cannot use it any more and then recycle it.

  7. My favorite is the Vintage Cranberry Holiday Wrap. So cute! My green tips are to use canvas grocery bags. We also make a point to ride our bikes on errands that are within biking distance!

  8. My favorite card is holiday swirls.

My green tip I used today, is if you use enviornmentally friendly cleaning products, that are also kid safe, you don’t have to worry that your little one wants to clean her grimy fingerprints off the sliding glass door with you! Instant, extra help!

  12. Wow, what great cards!! Such fun, creative ideas – it was hard to choose just one… I love the Honey Dew Holiday (

I have been using reusable water bottles instead and grocery bags, but one tip I think people often overlook is a digital programmable thermostat – it is more accurate and you can program it to a less comfortable temp while you are gone… uses less energy!!

  13. I love the Cranberry Holiday Wrap cards! My favorite green tip is to recycle, recycle, recycle. I love turning things into toys for my daughter and trying to come up with ways of re-inventing trash!

  14. i love the cherry and blue snowflakes vintage cards, and im definitely going to go with using one refillable bottle as my tip!

  15. I really like the holiday snowman card.

I’m trying to use cloth bags at the grocery store, and when we do get plastic or paper bags, we always use them again for garbage bags, produce bags, or crafts.

  16. I absolutely love the Holiday Swirls card, and it’s certainly worth the extra postage.

I have lots of green tips on my blog, but one in particular that I’ve done is to give up disposable baby wipes for flannel ones that I made out of old receiving blankets. They work great, and you can read my post on it here:

    Thanks so much!

  17. My favorite is the Holiday Flock. And my favorite (as well as easiest) green tip – use your own mug when you stop at the coffee shop every day on the way to work. The coffee drink stays hotter longer and you’re not using up another cup. tinawittmer(At)yahoo(dot)com

  18. Wow, it is cruel to make us pick just one favorite!!! I guess right now my favorite would be:
    Christmas Snowflake
    They are all so beautiful.

Using re-usable grocery bags is my green tip. They’re simple and they pack so much better than plastic and make me feel like I am at least making an effort.

  21. I like the vintage Cranberry Holiday Wrap best! it would be great to get custom Christmas cards this year!

My favorite green tip is to always remember to take your own canvas or recycled bags to the grocery store, I have ten large ones, not only can you fit more in them but it saves the earth from being covered in those ugly blue bags that we call city tumbleweeds.
