Our PTA recently looked into a Movie Night. It turned out that the theater manager didn’t want to rent out one of the theaters during the spring break, so we couldn’t have the event. The whole idea of Movie Night was a fun one for the children and it got me to wondering how we could enjoy watching a movie as a group without being at someone else’s mercy. I found a possible answer on the Buy.com sale page.

What I found was the Senario AL-100 Mega Vu Torpedo 6ft Video Projector. This device connects, by composit video cable, to lots of things including DVD players, video game systems (xBox, Nintendo, Playstation), digital cameras and computers. It projects an image up to six foot in size diagonally up onto a wall or onto the ceiling. No worries about sound, it also has a built in speaker and amplifier.

A projector like this could be a fun investment for not only a PTA but also families, teams, organizations, neighborhood associations and even small businesses. The Sproutwells and Freshfunds

This afternoon I found a new cartoon online. It’s called The Sproutwells. I first saw this video on my pal Karen’s blog. The series is about a family of vegetables called the Sproutwells. My favorite character is the mother, Romaina. The Sproutwells have a nosy, judgmental neighbor named Rosie. While I may not be nuts about the way the daughter Ruby speaks to adults, it is pretty reflective of the way some children just blurt out what they’re thinking. In this episode they find a dog named Phyto. The part I liked the best is at the end when the neighbor says “another package? where are they coming from?”. It made me laugh because it made me think of one of my neighbors who mentioned something about the amount of packages that I receive.

You might have noticed that at the end of the video it says to stay tuned for more fresh ideas from the Freshfunds website. I’m wondering what that’s about. If you look at the Freshfunds (.com) website it is up but it’s not fully functioning yet. Hmmmm.

A NewBaby is born

Moms, there’s a new site created especially with you in mind. It took more than two years to bring NewBaby.com to life. NewBaby is a social media network where mothers can interact with each other through the use of videos and photos. The site is free to join and offers vlogs, blogs and a family photo gallery among it’s many other features. The site is home to a number of parenting experts and offers an Advice and Answers area. One of the areas I liked is the product area which contains review videos. There’s even an entire section for new mothers to be. There’s a lot to see on NewBaby, too much to mention here.
