I have been to three baby showers in the last two months. Something that the three showers all had in common were some of the gifts – they were all the same. Considering all of us live near each other and have the same stores to shop in it’s easy to understand how we could all buy the same things. I think it’s great to offer a child something to make him or her feel special when their new sibling is born. When CJ was born I don’t recall seeing anything like a “big brother” shirt that we could give TJ.

Introducing the newest member of my family

This is my new niece, who arrived last week.

She is absolutely amazing - total perfection, beauty and innocence. I love to hold her and I’m planning on spoiling her. I am so glad she’s finally here and that she and her Mom made it through the birth safely.

She’s tiny, weighing in at 18 inches and 6 pounds 5 ounces she’s a tiny bigger than CJ was. Welcome little one!

You want me to take my clothes off why?

I went to the hospital after work today to visit my sister in law and see my niece, who had been born not long before I got there. Boy is she beautiful! More on that later. My knee started killing me so I sat on the floor for a little while. Chair shortage in the room at that moment don’t you know. When I got up to get something for my sister in law my foot felt like it was asleep. I hobbled to the nurses station on my mission, figuring if I waited it out it would go back to normal and wake up. Instead it seemed to get worse. After I said goodbye for the day I got myself over to the emergency room, where I waited. Then I went into triage and then I was sent to another waiting room, where I waited. I was then taken back into a room within the emergency room, where I waited. Two nurses came in and asked some questions and told me I’d need to take all of my clothes off. I told her it was only my knee, foot and leg I wanted looked at and everything above the waist was fine. She said I needed to take everything off. Ummm, ok. I got undressed and put that little gown on and guess what I did. I waited. Finally the doctor came in and checked my knee, foot and leg out. He never went any further up than my lower back. So why in the world did I need to take my shirt and bra off? Anyway. He thinks it’s a neuro/ortho issue and that I’ve probably got several herniated discs. Guess what he told me I need? Yes folks, it’s another emg, this one on the leg. Can you see me dancing for joy! That’s all for now, me and my pain killer are going to bed.

A NewBaby is born

Moms, there’s a new site created especially with you in mind. It took more than two years to bring NewBaby.com to life. NewBaby is a social media network where mothers can interact with each other through the use of videos and photos. The site is free to join and offers vlogs, blogs and a family photo gallery among it’s many other features. The site is home to a number of parenting experts and offers an Advice and Answers area. One of the areas I liked is the product area which contains review videos. There’s even an entire section for new mothers to be. There’s a lot to see on NewBaby, too much to mention here.
