I’ll tell you a secret if you promise not to tell my son

I got the most awesome message when I got home this afternoon. RB took a phone call earlier in the day asking us if we could be present at a basketball awards ceremony in two weeks after the season is over because TJ is going to be presented with an award. He’ll be receiving the Rudy Award. I wasn’t home to ask specifically why TJ was chosen or what the qualifications are but I have heard of the award before and if I recall correctly it’s awarded for children making an effort to do their best to improve and succeed, more specifically for showing qualities including character, courage, commitment and contribution to the team. I’ve asked RB not to tell him because I’d like him to be surprised at the ceremony. I am so proud of him!

Thanks for a Divine surprise

I have gotten a terrific surprise. In my email was a notification that someone had nominated A Contest Blog for a “Love This Site” award on the Divine Caroline website. I don’t know who nominated me but I’m hoping they read this site because I’d like to thank them and let them know that I appreciate it very much. I got a spiffy badge to put on the site, so feel free to click on the banner on the right of this page and pop over there and oooh and ahhhh over the badge. (Feel free to vote too, if you happen to read or submit.) Thanks anonymous admirer!

He likes me, he really likes me.

My hubby, that is. LOL. I know this because he took the trouble to nominate this blog for the Best Blogitizer award. He says I can write about anything. I don’t know about that. I write what I think and I think before I write. That being said, I know he meant well but now that the nomination has been made I’d feel more than a little embarassed if I had only his vote. So with that being said I’m hoping to receive a vote or two. If you happen to think that I write well about whatever it is I’m writing about at the time, please click on the button on the left side of my page to register and vote for me. I’d really appreciate it and it would save me from finishing with no votes too. Go ahead. Click it. You know you want to.

I got an award!

Lori at A Cowboy’s Wife passed on the MMP Winning Attitude Award to me! She actually passed it on to me over a week ago and I somehow missed it. According to the award creator, the award is “based on positive thinking and is meant for those blogs who base their existence, in part or in whole, on Positive Winning Attitudes.” Thanks Lori! I appreciate your kind words. I’m choosing two bloggers to share this award with. The two bloggers are Lynne, of The Sewing Mom, and Blueyes, who’s By The Sea. Both of these bloggers  are frequent visitors to more than one of my blogs, and both participate in my Four Foods on Friday meme which is hosted on my Fun, Crafts and Recipes site. Thank you both, for being great blogging neighbors!

Amazing Blogger Award

I went online this morning to find the nicest surprise. Lynne, who blogs at The Sewing Mom, gave me an Amazing Blogger Award. Thanks Lynne! That’s was really nice of you and I appreciate it. If you want to see a nice, vivid color scheme, go check out Lynne’s blog.

Because receiving the award was such a nice surprise, I’m going to follow Lynne’s lead and pass it on to a couple of other bloggers as well.

I want to give the award to Skeet for a couple of reasons. She started Spread Some Sunshine, which I think is a very worthwhile meme. She’s got a nice writing style. She’s willing to help fellow bloggers. Skeet enjoys hidden object puzzle games, and got me hooked on them. (Wait, that may not be all good. Money, you know. LOL.)

I’d also like to give the award to Jennifer. I’m giving it to her because I really like the way the latest posts from all her blogs appear in one place. She takes lots of pictures, which is nice. Her posting style is friendly. I’ll forgive her the fact she puts Miracle Whip on grilled cheese.

Finally, I also want to give the award to Stephanie, who has three blogs that I know of. I was visiting her Aspects of Home Business blog and was impressed by how much original content was on the attached Aspects of Home Business site. But if you visit Home With The Kids or Green Stay At Home Mom, one look will make it clear that she puts quite a bit of time and thought into all of her posts.

My blog got a little egg-stra attention!

Check it out! A Cowboy’s Wife has awarded me The Egels Nest award. Thank you so much for reading my blog and thinking of me for this. Now I’d like to pass the award on, and the first two blogs that come to mind are Army Mom: New Jersey and Skeet’s Stuff. Congrats!
