May Is National Allergy And Asthma Awareness Month - Kids Xlear Giveaway

kids xlear nasal spray

May is National Allergy and Asthma Awareness Month. A total of 2 million school days are missed each year due to nasal allergy symptoms in children and on any given day, 10,000 American children miss school because of allergic rhinitis according to the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology. Children seem to be more vulnerable to allergies than adults.

Studies show that April and May are the worst months for spring allergy sufferers. Itchy eyes were the most common symptom (87%), followed by sneezing (80%), runny nose (77%), and watery eyes (73%).

Kids Xlear Nasal Spray with Xylitol is an all-natural, non-addictive OTC option for treating allergies in children.

Xylitol is a great defensive weapon for helping prevent pathogens and allergens from causing problems in the nasal passages, where respiratory problems start. It simply acts as an aid to the body’s natural cleansing process by pulling small amounts of water into the nose to help the washing, and the xylitol prevents the pathogens from holding on. When bacteria enter the body, they hold on to the tissues by attaching to a variety of sugar complexes. Xylitol interferes with this adherence. It means fewer nasal related problems.

Kids Xlear is $6.99, and can be found in retail stores across the country. Xlear Nasal Spray Xlear Nasal Spray comes in adult form as well.

Clorox taking aim at people with allergies

Did you ever think you could use Clorox anywhere? I didn’t used to think so because I remember when all they were known for was bleach. Clorox makes all sorts of terrific products now and they’ve just come up with another one, Clorox Anywhere Anti-Allergen Fabric Spray.

From the website: “This gentle and effective formula helps neutralize up to 90 percent of common indoor allergens (dust mite matter, cat dander and dog dander) that can hide in upholstery and fabrics throughout the house. The formula works by changing the structure of allergen proteins, rendering them inactive. The fragrance-free, dye-free spray is safe on virtually all fabrics and gentle enough to use around kids and pets.

Hubby has some minor seasonal issues but nothing like some of the problems many people have. One of my brothers is allergic to many things and had to go for scratch testing when he was a child. I felt so bad for him, getting all that stuff pricked into his skin. My parents even ripped all of the carpet out of the house at one point. I have many friends with allergies. A couple of my friends are very allergic to cats, which I have two of. Another friend, one of my coworkers, has reactions to most things with scents.

Thanks to Mom Central I received a bottle of Clorox Anywhere Anti-Allergen Fabric Spray. I tried spraying the living room with it this past week. The product seemed to have no scent. After three days of this a friend with a cat allergy was brave enough to come over and seemed to have no reaction after being there for an hour. I’ve always had thought that allergens carried odor. I mean, how could they not since they come from animals and dust? Who wouldn’t want to break up allergens to help prevent odor in their house. I’ve also read and been told by two doctors that allergies can change and develop over time. Wouldn’t it just be good sense to spritz this product each time the house is cleaned for everyone’s benefit?

Clorox Anywhere Anti-Allergen Fabric Spray will be sold in retail stores nationwide and will be priced at approximately $2.99.

Food allergies

Two days ago I brought a single serving microwave container of Campbell’s Italian Sausage With Pasta And Pepperoni soup with me to work. It had under 150 calories and the size was reasonable. I heated it up and took a bite and thought it was disgusting. I looked into the container and saw mushrooms. I threw the rest away. I’m guessing the mushrooms were the reason I didn’t like the taste, because I don’t like mushrooms. Hubby used to like them but he gets really sick whenever he eats them so I have to watch that premade foods don’t have them. I didn’t know the soup had mushrooms in it or I never would have bought it. Why do the ingredients on food packaging have to be so damned small?! Food allergies are an excellent reason to cook from scratch. I have a son who’s got Celiac disease, so we need to avoid all wheat, rye, barley and related products, anything with modified food starch and a bunch of other things. Hubby can’t have mushrooms without feeling like he ought to go to the emergency room. At least you know what you’re eating if you cooked it from scratch.

I happened across some Lipovox reviews and noticed that these pills contain extracts of things that some people are allergic to, fish, berries and grains. I’m guessing that people who are allergic to those things can’t take those pills.

Do you have any food allergies?
