Wordless Wednesday – Vanellope Val And Her Only A Little Flabby Arms
Recently I was sent an email asking me some questions about my body following Lap band surgery, specifically if there was much extra skin. In my case, there really isn’t. That’s not to say there isn’t any, but there isn’t as much as I thought there would be. This picture of me wearing my new Wreck-It Ralph tshirt shows some of my arms. If you haven’t seen Wreck-It Ralph yet, you should. It’s awesome. Check back this weekend for my review. My arms have a little extra skin up top but it’s really only noticeable if I hold my arms outward. I do have a little more extra skin on my stomach and thighs, more then I’d like but still less then I thought I’d have. I’ll have to figure out a way to share a photo of those.

Thanks for stopping by! If you have a picture up for Wordless Wednesday, leave your link below! Then head on over to From Val’s Kitchen and Here And There

Congratulations to you!!! I have lost and gained, lost and gained so many times in my life. It seems I’m never happy with my body at whatever weight I am at. It seems no matter what I weigh, I always feel like I look like I did when I was much heavier. The mind loves to play tricks and that is something I need to work on no matter what weight! Don’t worry about a little extra skin, you look great!!!!
Thanks so much for the kind words. If I could only get rid of the belly now, but it’s been there so long and I’m pretty sure that’s where the fat that won’t leave went.
On my wife’s side of the family, there are a couple who got the gastric surgery. Her grandmother wants to get it done, but she has heart problems. Glad everything is going well.
Thanks for the well wishes. I’m guessing her heart problems are substantial enough they feel the surgery would put her grandma at risk?
I had gastric surgery in 2004, I loss 156 lbs and what bothered me was my upper arms as well as upper legs, but I loved the way I looked dressed
I have had a lot of emotional issues though and only kept off 66 pounds but am working on losing again. Thanks for posting, its inspirational
Best of luck to you!
I had gastric bypass surgery about 7 years ago. Total weight loss has been about 145 pounds (more than 1/2 my total weight!). No complications, no problems, and am happy with the results. I do have some loose skin but I’d rather live with that then the ongoing health problems of hypertension and beginnings of diabetes and arthritis in my knees and hips. Glad you are doing well and are happy with the results!
Congratulations! Glad to hear of your progress!
I had gastric bypass this year. Have lost 70 pounds, want to lose another 60. I have some loose skin on my arms, but I have a friend who had the surgery to remove arm flap. I just do not like the scars.
I’ve never really thought about the surgery so am not familiar with the scars. Are they big, and can they be hidden on the underneath of the arm?
You look great! Super cute t-shirt, too.
I loved sleeveless tanks. However, since losing weight I am more self conscious about the skin left behind.
