Summer Spruce Up With P&G And Home Depot – With #Giveaway
Hubby’s been trying to spend a little time in the evening and on the weekend straightening up the yard. About a week ago he gave the trim on the swingset a fresh coat of paint and scrubbed the slide. We’re badly in need of new outdoor everything. Our grill died last year. Out hammock and gliding swing both died painful deaths last year. All we have left is a resin table and four resin chairs, all of which are white. When we got them years ago white was the only color there was. Time and weather have not been especially kind to them, they are filthy. I discovered recently that Mr Clean actually makes a couple of outdoor cleaning products – Mr Clean Outdoor Spray and Mr Clean Outdoor pro Magic Eraser. I’ve got them on the table by the sliding glass door so that hubby can try them out this weekend. These and many other P&G products are available for purchase at Home Depot. So if you’re doing a weekend project making a new creation, maybe some planting or minor building, don’t forget to take care of what you’ve got. We’re guilty of not cleaning our furniture often enough. Apparently a lot of people don’t do it either, as a recent P&G survey found that only 25% of consumers clean their grills and only 20% clean their outdoor furniture.
Here are some tips to get your outdoor space ready for entertaining this summer.
- Maintain Your Outdoor Furniture – Keep it looking good all summer
- Inspect your Deck – Give it good once over – check for loose nails, bricks, cracked concrete
- Remove the Clutter – Clean up, power wash, remove unnecessary items/debris.
- Accessorize – Add in the little touches (i.e., plants, outdoor lighting, lanterns, centerpiece)
- Clean your Grill – Give your grill a clean start this season.

Friday. Actually, that is only kinda true… since it was not actually meeeee…. but the hubby who cleaned the grill and furniture. Yup, we have a thing pretty much every Friday (in Seattle, locals welcome) and lately it is all about the BBQ and the firepit. Honestly, I just chucked some outdoor furniture because I didn’t think I could scrub enough to get it clean lol I have a beach chair I’m using now for the back porch.
