MY THOUGHTS

I received a copy of Bejeweled 3 for Mac. Once you create your profile in the game you can start playing. The first screen you see is basically the man menu, where you can select which mode you’re going to play Bejeweled 3 in. At first just the four main modes are available, more unlock as you progress in the games.

In Classic mode the goal is to match 3 jewels or more and clear the board.

While you are playing you can get tips on things, if you choose to do so in the settings. The tips will notify you about new types of jewels, what they do and how to use them.

You have to try and think ahead because it is possible to run out of moves and not clear the board, in which case the game ends.

Once you’ve gotten so far in the Classic mode, another mode unlocks – Poker. The premise here is to make hands like you would in a poker game. I actually found this mode of play a bit busy for me. If I spent time looking at what was going on with the cards on the left I was wasting time and not doing well matching the jewels.

Another mode of gameplay that you can choose is Lightning. This method of play is timed. You start with a certain amount of time.

As you play the time starts running out. By making more matches you can earn more time.

Another mode of play is the Zen mode. Basically this is endless play. No time limits, you just keep playing until you don’t want to anymore.

Another mode of play, and one of my two favorites is Quest. The Quest mode lets you choose between eight different games.

Two of my favorite Quest games are Butterflies and Alchemy.

Butterflies – You have to keep making matches to clear twenty butterflies before any of them get to the top of the screen where the spider is.

Alchemy – You have to keep making matches until you turn the whole field of play gold.
