Sprite Spark Parks Project And $50 GC Giveaway

Where do teens, young adults and families go to have fun and blow off some steam in your neighborhood? Perhaps a park or a basketball court? We’re fortunate, the parks and courts in my area are in decent shape. There have been a few times on my trips to the airport that I saw parks and courts in the Philly area that were completely unusable or in really, really bad shape. It’s a shame, because I think people are healthier when they have a way to exercise and blow off steam, especially when it’s with family or community members. There is still hope for these parks and courts, thanks to the Sprite Spark Parks Project.

The Sprite Spark Parks Project is a multi-year commitment to build and restore play environments where teens, families and neighbors can get outside and be active. The big idea: play, be active, be inspired and have fun. The campaign kicked off several weeks ago where readers had the opportunity to nominate their courts and now your vote is needed to determine which parks will get the funding. At least 21 courts will receive funding for items such as new rims, backboards, blacktop surfaces and art installations created by local artists to inspire play. If you want one of those refurbished courts to be accessible for your child, all you have to do is head to The Sprite Facebook Page and VOTE!

Voters are eligible to win prizes too! The Grand Prize is a trip for 2 to the NBA All-Star 2012 – including air transportation, hotel & tickets to the NBA 2012 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday and the 61st NBA All-Star Game played on Sunday and some spending money. Other prizes include Sprite for a year and $100 gift cards.

WIN IT!

ONE winner will receive a $50 Nike.com gift card.

Oh man all work and no play makes ANYBODY a dull boy (or girl)! I think the best way to get out of a bad mood is to work it out of your body. Kids included! Having a bad day? Try hanging upside down on the monkey bars and see how long you stay crabby!

I believe a play space should have plenty of space for plenty of toys that spark a childs imagination and learning to play well with others.
