Personal Child Stories

Ever thought about having a personalized book created for your child? Not the kind where they insert a name, I mean the kind that is written just for you. That’s what Personal Child Stories does. I haven’t personally had one of thee made but the idea is interesting. Below is some information about them. For more info and feedback on the product be sure to visit the website and check out the Personal Child Stories media page.

Personal Child Stories

Parents and educators often look to books to help them overcome hurdles throughout a child’s development. Sometimes these books hit the mark to help through potty training, learning appropriate social boundaries or dealing with the death of a beloved pet. Other times, elements of the book don’t apply to the individual child or the subject matter simply doesn’t exist in a book for children, many special needs families are acutely aware of this.

Personal Child Stories never misses the mark, because each book is written specifically for your child, using their name, their pictures and their situation. Created by a mom working through issues with a special needs child, the Personal Child Stories are intended to be self esteem building tools that aid in social emotional understanding and emotional intelligence – perfect for use at home or in the classroom.

Since each book is written from scratch, any subject matter is open: there are the popular books that apply to just about any child like “We Love You Just The Way You Are”, the Counting Book for early readers (available in 3 languages including American Sign Language) or more complicated, personalized books about dealing with a developmental disability, or family issues like a half sibling leaving to spend time with their other parent.

Every page is laminated in heavy duty lamination (5 MIL), so they can easily be colored on and wiped clean. Their heavy duty nature makes them very durable, so babies, toddlers and special needs children who can be tough on books will have to work extra hard to destroy their Personal Child Stories book!

Shara puts so much care & attention on each PCS book she creates which is one main reason they’re so special. She devotes the time & effort to really understand the child’s background & story. As a result, PCS books help to nurture & educate in a profound & deeper way. This in itself make her work & books priceless.

I have a 3yr old son and one of my dearest friends has given him a Personal Child Stories book for each year of his life. He enjoys reading them all the time. An amazing way to keep memories. I get tears in my eyes everytime we open one of them up. I recently lost my Mom and Shara found a way to include “Grandma Pumpkin” in his last book so she will always be remembered by her “pumpkin”

Shara is an amazing person to work with – very creative and flexible. I feel like I know her personally.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I love Personal Child Stories’ books! I wish they were around when I was a child. Through out Elementary I was very much teased… They even called me a Nazi, because my father was from Germany. (He wasn’t even in the war, he was born after the war) And it sure did hurt.

A book like that, would have been God sent if I had it way back then. But it wasn’t, so I am really glad these are available now to all those little people out there.

Do you remember writing your own book in grade school days at summer library?

I just recently purchased our first (but definitely not last!) PCS book for my daughter as a Christmas Gift. It turned out to be not only her favorite, but mine as well. She loves to look at the book, and I often find her hugging it and reading the pages to herself. She shows her special book to everyone that comes to our home, and she is happy to let her little brother look at it because she knows that he cannot hurt it. I look forward to ordering more for both of my children, as I know they will be treasured for a lifetime.

I love Personal Child Stories’ books, they help promote self-esteem and encourage reluctant readers into a love of reading like no other book out there. I think every child should have one of these. They also allow the parent to let their child know how important he or she is to them. What a great way to love and empower your child :-)

Thank you for highlighting Personal Child Stories. I ordered one of these books for my boys – All about brothers, and they love it. It is really fun for them to look at the pictures and hear the story. I encourage everyone to check it out – this is not your everyday “personalized” Children’s book, it is written from the heart!

I have had a PCS book made and it is wonderful! The only book my daughter has been able to have in her crib w/o ripping it up and she loves seeing them pictures of herself. I highly recommend PCS–in fact I’m going to get another book made to help the kids deal with my hubbies upcoming deployment!

Unlike any other books I have seen – these books become an automatic favorite of the child. Their indestructible nature means that not only does the child get to read them for years – they can then be stored away as a lifetime treasure to keep. I am a big fan of these books – that cost far less than they should.

Personal Child Stories has made more than one book for me. Shara is so flexible with her approach. And the books are so durable. Most importantly the child who receives a PCS book keeps it as a lasting treasure. No PCS books find their way to a yardsale, just keepsake boxes to pass on to future generations.
