GIVEAWAY – Allergy Proofing Your Home With Lysol

The allergy season kicked off a good month ago here on the Jersey shore. First there was some sneezing and then some itching and now the pollen is visible everywhere. I may not personally suffer from allergies but I try to stay on top of ways to fight them as my friends and some family members do have allergies. I mean, nobody wants to have that house where people won’t visit because something triggers their allergies. Or worse yet, nobody wants to have a house where you can’t even be comfortable yourself because you suffer from allergies.
Thanks to Lysol, helping to protect your family from allergens could be easier than you might think. Lysol Allergens is a comprehensive and helpful site. They’ve even put together an interactive tour of a real home as head Lysol® Microbiologist Joe Rubino and nationally-renowned Pediatrician Dr. Laura Jana show you some of the most important places where you can take action to reduce allergens in your home.

Over in the New Moms section, to help reduce the spread of germs once you have a new baby, be sure to wash hand towels and dishcloths more frequently. Wipe down the baby powder, lotions, shampoo, any thing you come in contact with a baby.. you need to wipe down frequently.
I always wipe down the light switches and door knobs.. but never gave it a thought on wiping down the baby products we use daily.

I learned that to reduce allergens in your bedroom you should: wash bedding weekly, choose non-allergnic bedding, remove clutter, keep clothes in drawers or closets, use disinfectant wipes to remove pollen particles, pet dander, and dust mite debris, and clean and disinfect commonly touched objects and surfaces!

Hubby has seasonal allergies, however our house gets warm during the afternoon so he opens the windows. I just read “If you or someone in your family has seasonal allergies, keep windows closed during high pollen days.” Guess we need to come up with a better idea of cooling down the house.
