CJ’s room is a challenge to decorate. He’s really into trains but at 11 is too old for some of the train room decorations that you find. I accepted the offer to review Dezign With A Z specifically with his room in mind.

MY THOUGHTS

We received an Alphabet Train set of decals in blue. The set of decals came on a  giant rolled up sheet.

The sheet had six rows of train cars on it.

The decals looked exactly as they had on the website. There were directions in the package as well as on the website, where there’s also a how to video. The decals aren’t difficult to apply but depending on the design you choose they might be a little challenging. We got an alphabet train that we wanted to go across two walls. The first thing we did was cut the rectangle into six individual rows of train cars.

After trying the first sheet we realized that the wider the decal the more challenging the installation. With that in mind, we cut each of the rows in half. To install the decals you remove the backing and apply the decal to the wall. Then you smooth out the decal. We tried smoothing the decals in different ways when we put ours on the walls. The two methods we found most effective were using a rolling pin and using a sock on your hand. After smoothing you remove the front coating.

Vinyl decals are a great way to decorate a room. The selection of decals that Dezign With A Z offers is huge – there are hundreds. They even offer custom decals, made from your photos. For many of the decals you can choose the color (24 colors available) and size that you want. The decals are sturdy and should last quite some time. It’s great that they are removable, so that you could easily change the decor of a room by adding, removing or changing decals. We haven’t removed our decals so I can’t test it but I have been promised that if you remove the decals there is no residue left on the wall and no damage to the wall. It is important to know that these removable decals are NOT reusable.
