Mail Call!

my mail

Upon arriving home last night one of the first things I encountered were two GIANT piles of mail and packages. Both the kitchen and dining room tables each had a pile. I usually get our mail but since I was away RB got it. I couldn’t believe how much of it there was, until I remembered that RB had also been taking in my parents mail. He had thought to split the mail, ours on the kitchen table and my parents on the dining room table. My parents pile included a lot of mail and two boxes, one of which seemed to contain commercial kitchen parts. I couldn’t understand why my Mom would be ordering frymaster parts for her built in stovetop fryer until she reminded me that she’d gotten a new stove a month ago. I have to finish opening and sorting our mail tonight. My Dad is going to have so much fun opening all that mail. I’ll never understand why my Dad loves to open the mail, it’s a fascination he’s always had. He actually rushes out to the mailbox to get the mail before my mother. In the end it’s usually bills so I’m not sure why he does that. Who gets the mail in your house?

My husband doesn’t usually even think about getting the mail. I do it. I love getting mail because it could be a prize notice since I enter a lot of sweepstakes, or maybe a rebate or some coupons. Of course I find the usual pile of bills, too. We’re arriving home today after 10 days of travel, so the mail stack will be quite high.

The parts were a shelf forthe broken one in the refrigerator and drying racks for my new Jenn-air kosherset stove.

I love getting the mail too. Especially when there’s something unexpected. But when it’s all bills, it’s so disappointing. My husband likes getting the mail too, but since I’m the one home during the day I usually get it first.

I almost always get our mail. My hubby usually just hands me the mail even if he gets it. All that mail came while we were gone and he didn’t open a single piece.

Most of our mail is junk mail but often the important mail goes to another “Hillside” in Neptune. I think there must be five “Hillsides” within 2 miles. Many have the same zip code.

Yes, I believe you have several names within your zip code. Our junk mail seems to go in spurts, tons for a week and then none for a week. I hate junk mail. What a waste of paper and my time.

ME! I love getting mail, although mine consists mainly of packages that contain products for review – hence the excitement – and comes sporadically. It’s got that same feeling of ripping open a present, even if I know it’s something boring inside. If it’s a bill… then nevermind.

I’m obsessed with mail. My husband doesn’t even get it anymore – he just leaves it for me, knowing it is a daily treat. I like the possibilities of mail – what could be in there – more than the actual mail itself.
