Klutz Book Of Animation Blog Tour – Stop 8 With Giveaway

| Wed 09-29-10

Klutz Book Of Animation Cover

Here’s some cool news. I’m stop #8 in the Klutz Book of Animation Blog Tour! The folks at Klutz, the company that makes all of those fun activity books that you may be familiar with, have come up with a new book and boy is it a fun one. It’s the Klutz Book Of Animation.

About the Klutz Book Of Animation – The Klutz Book of Animation is a complete how-to treatment of stop-motion magic, from practical instruction to ready-to-shoot scripts. Anybody with a computer, camera, internet connection and a little bit of creativity can create animated films for the masses. The software you’ll need is available as a free download, ready to use on any computer (PC or Mac). The Klutz Book of Animation is a how-to-guide for this art form. Step-by-step instructions show you how to create a variety of different classic stop motion special effects. Watch the real videos we created here and then start making your own!

This book comes with a piece of non-toxic clay that you can mold into anything you like and feature in your own animated films. Project instructions are written in easy to understand language and include lots of pictures. I appreciated that Klutz included each project’s level of difficulty, I think it’s better to start simple and work your way up, building on what you’ve learned. I can’t wait to try some of these and see what TJ thinks. What a fun family project for a rainy day! At just under $20 it’s pretty affordable too!

Did you ever see those videos with the people that move as though they’re wearing magical shoes? You can learn how to do that in this book. Take a look at the video created just for my stop on this blog tour.

Be sure to stop by Simple Father tomorrow…for another fun giveaway & video feature!

WIN IT!

ONE winner will receive a copy of The Klutz Book of Animation, as well as How to Build Pirate Ships, Klutz Book of Knots and Invasion of the Bristlebots! Prize Pack valued at: $80.00.

I don’t know the names of particular tricks, but I would start by making an animation of the stuffed animals in our house coming to “life”. Kind of like the Famous Fruit Speeches video. How fun, Thanks!
