HP Virtual Focus Group – Printing Documents
Talking about the HP Virtual Focus Group again. The two models of printers are the HP Photosmart C6380 and the Kodak ESP 7. This time I’m comparing printing documents from both of the printers.
The HP prints up to 34 pages per minute in black and up to 30 pages per minute in color. The Kodak prints up to 32 pages per minute in black and up to 30 pages per minute in color.
It looks like both printers can print on numerous types of paper including:
- Plain paper
- Legal paper
- Cards
- Envelopes
- Transparency film
- Labels
- 5 x 7 inch Photo paper
- 4 x 6 inch Photo paper
- 8.5 x 11 inch Photo paper
Both printers were fast, the HP very marginally faster. Print after print I found two HUGE differences between the printers. The Kodak prints lighter than the HP. In side by side document comparisons the same document when printed on the Kodak was lighter than the same printed on the HP. This became especially obvious when printing papers with watermarks. The watermark was almost invisible when printed on the Kodak.
The other thing I found is that the Kodak is very noisy, to the point of annoyance. Here’s video of the sound when printing from each.
First the HP.
Then the Kodak.
Stay tuned. Next time I’ll be covering photo printing.
