James And The Giant Peach is actually one of the few Disney movie that I’ve never seen so I was very excited to be able to review it. James And The Giant Peach is quite different than most Disney movies. It’s got a lot more dark moments. The aunts are just plain eveil, there’s no other way to describe them. The graphics are great but different – not all of it is animated and the colors are on the dark side. I enjoyed the movie very much, as well as the story of James. James And The Giant Peach is the story of a boy (James),who becomes orphaned and forced to live with his two mean spinster aunts. They care nothing for him and only use him to work around the house. I really felt bad for the character of James. James encounters a mysterious man who promises him his way to his dreams (New York, a place he dreamed of visiting with his parents) is through his heart. The man gives James a bag full of magical creatures, warning him he must not let them out. The creatures accidentally get out and create a giant, no enormous, peach. The aunts charge people to see the peach. One night James finds his way inside the peach and the peach rolls away and lands in the ocean. James and his newfound friends, other creatures including a ladybug, a spider and a grasshopper, are on their way to New York City. On the way they must battle a shark and pirates, while they discover that friendship is important and differences don’t mean an inability to get along. I really enjoyed James And The Giant peach and recommend it highly.
Here’s a trailer I found.
