Weighty Words – Waiting

I am very overweight and have been for a long time. Over the past year I’ve realized that I have to lose weight and get healthier. I’ve done a lot of research and a lot of thinking. Earlier this year I consulted with a surgeon regarding gastric banding surgery. Since seeing him I’ve gotten medical clearance from the cardiologist, the gastroenterologist and the pulmonologist. I’ve been cleared by a psychologist. I’ve gotten a letter of support from my primary. I’ve had bloodwork done. I took a nuclear stress test, and had a chest xray, an EKG and an echocardiogram. I’ve seen the nutritionist. I found out yesterday that my surgery date has been set for April 17 – three weeks from tomorrow. I’m excited, and yet a little nervous. I’m not a big fan of waiting. I hope you’ll stick around and share my journey. I’ll be blogging, with pictures and I’m thinking even some video.
Things should start getting interesting next week as I go on a special pre-surgical diet.

You will be in my prayers! Being overweight is not fun! It is a journey. Stay strong! And have Faith! God is in Control!
