With no internet for several days another thing I got to do was some reading. I received a copy of the book The Ultimate Mom by Maria Bailey. For those of you that don’t know who Maria Bailey is, she’s not only an award-winning author but she’s the host of Mom Talk Radio, the co-host of Good Day with Doug Stephan, the founder of bluesuitmom.com and the cofounder of newbaby.com.

The Ultimate Mom is a collection of stories written by a group of very diverse authors. I really enjoyed the book because it was a light read and because all of the stories looked at motherhood from different aspects. Some of the authors wrote of their mothers, some of their children and others still of women in their life that made an impact. It was easy to see that the authors all wrote from the heart. The stories were inspirational, funny, sad and thought provoking. My favorite stories are “Observations Of A Mom” by Cynthia Thrift, “The Perfect Corsage” by Connie K. Pombo, “A Mother’s Miracle” by Michael Jordan Segal, “Teens Take Flight” by Tina Koenig, “Baby Book Bloopers” by Terri Elders, “Mom-ese” by Jill Sunshine and “The Impromptu Birthday” by Jane Koenen Bretl. At the back of the  book there is a section of articles containing advice and tips from parenting experts.
