T Minus 7 For Mom
I’m not sure how many of you know that my Mom is scheduled to have the same surgery that I did – Lap Band surgery. I just got off of the phone with my Dad. They were leaving the hospital, where she’d just completed her pre-op testing. They did the same tests on her that they did on me – blood work, ekg and chest xray. Like me, she’d also had an ekg but they wanted a more recent one. She hadn’t previously had a chest xray (taken to rule out pneumonia and other pulmonary diseases as well as mesothelioma and other cancers). She then saw the surgeon and the nutritionist for the last time before surgery. I bet she has a terrific dinner tonight, because she starts her pre-surgical diet tomorrow, which she’ll be on for one week.

Sounds like you 2 will be excellent support for each other. I keep thinking about you, and I’m glad you’re surgery has been a success. I’m sure it can’t be easy to go through such a tough life changing surgery.
