Raising The Bar Season 2 Sneak Preview
I’ve been a total couch potato today (except for taking my parents out to lunch so I could finally celebrate Mother’s Day with my Mom, but that’s another story). I got to preview the first two episodes of the second season of the tv show Raising The Bar. Season 2 launches on Monday June 8 at 10 pm on TNT. I’d watched some of last season’s episodes and enjoyed the show and judging from the two episodes that I watched today Season 2 will be even better.

The season premiere, “Hair Apparent”, opens in a bar where Jerry’s friends have gathered to celebrate his 33rd birthday. His friends tease him relentlessly about his long hair. When Jerry goes to trial he listens to a juror speak about looking professional and looking trustworthy, prompting Jerry to make a huge decision that night. His actions astound everyone except possibly the judge. Jerry’s client is on sale for selling drugs and has to choose between family and going to jail. Roz is now trying cases again. Bobbi’s divorce proceedings begin and she gets a big surprise when her drug using husband and his lawyer decide to use her personal life against her.

The other episode I got to watch was “The Curious Case Of Kellerman’s Button”, which is slated to be the third episode of the season. Jerry is late for court which angers Judge Farnsworth, the judge hearing the case. Events cause him to be late again that day and the judge decides to punish Jerry by rescheduling the case for the next month. Jerry manages to get a few minutes on the calendar the next day but the judge won’t hear the case because Jerry’s button isn’t fastened. When Jerry appears before the judge again he proves that things aren’t always what they seem and the rules aren’t always clear. A case that is potentially a hate crime goes to trial against Balco’s wishes and we learn that everyone has a different opinion of how to handle it.
You can get a little peek at the premiere episode too, take a look.
Raising The Bar will air Mondays at 10 pm on TNT. The series is produced by Steven Bochco. The cast includes Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Jerry Kellerman), Gloria Reuben (Roz Whitman), Natalia Cigliuti (Bobbi Gilardi), Teddy Sears (Richard Patrick Woolsley), Melissa Sagemiller (Michelle Ernhardt), J. August Richards (Marcus McGrath), Currie Graham (Nick Balco), Jane Kaczmarek (Judge Trudy Kessler) and Jonathan Scarfe (Charlie Sagansky).
