Because he is developmentally delayed I’m always on the lookout for anything that will help CJ learn. I took the opportunity to review Leap FrogĀ  Let’s Go To School hoping it would be something appropriate to use to hold his interest and help him with the basics.

Leap Frog Let’s Go To School is a DVD about the anticipation that many children feel concerning their first day of school. In the movie the twins Tad and Lily get worried about their upcoming first day after their older brother overwhelms them with a conversation about the big Day. They begin to think that they’re not prepared because after all, they don’t know their numbers and letters. Edison the firefly gives them a tour of a classroom, where they review counting, letters and sounds, the days of the week and animals.

I love that the DVD is close-captioned. The recommended age range on this DVD is 3-6 and I’d say that’s about right considering the age of children entering school could be about that wide. As far as CJ goes, I found the content was useful but rather than pausing to go over the letters I would have liked to see a slower pace in the classroom to keep things interactive.

Leap Frog Let’s Go To School is a DVD is available to purchase from LeapFrog.com for $14.98 as well as from other online stores.
