Kirkland Signature Sugar Free Children’s Chewable Multivitamins

As part of my diet following bariatric surgery I have to take multivitamins. I have to take the chewable ones because anything larger than the head of a pencil eraser could block the Lap band, causing complications and pain.

When I first learned I’d be taking chewable children’s multivitamins it didn’t bother me. Even at the age of 42 I remember the taste of the sweet vitamins I took as a child as did my own son TJ later. I expected the Kirkland Signature Sugar Free Children’s Chewable Multivitamins to be about the same – sweet and almost candy like. Boy was I wrong! These Kirkland vitamins were about the same size and color as the vitamins I remembered but lacked that slightly hazy dusting of powder (which I know have concluded was probably sugar). These vitamins are rather bitter, they actually cause me to scrunch up my face when I am chewing them. I’m guessing that’s probably because they’re sugar free. The cherry (pink) vitamin is the one that tastes the least offensive to my tastebuds. TJ tasted them and said they weren’t bad at all. I don’t like them but they’ll get the job done so I’ll tough it out. On the plus side, they are gluten free.

One bottle of Kirkland Signature Sugar Free Children’s Chewable Multivitamins contains 300 tablets. The bottle with dinosaurs proclaims they now have choline and that they’re iron free. The three flavors in the bottle are grape, orange and cherry. Each serving of one vitamin contains 5 (five) calories. Each vitamin contains Vitamin A, B6, B12, C, D3, E, Biotin, Calcium, Choline, Copper, Folate (Folic Acid), Iodine, Magnesium, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Phosphorus, Riboflavin (B2), Sodium, Thiamin (B1) and Zinc. These vitamins are comparable to Flintstones Complete. The vitamins retail for approximately $15.99 and may be purchased at Costco.
