HP Virtual Focus Group - Unpacking

I was given the awesome opportunity to take place in a virtual focus group for HP. The members of the group were asked to use two comparable all-in-one inkjet printers identically for six weeks and at the end decide which we liked best. The two models of printers are the HP Photosmart C6380 and the Kodak ESP 7.

Three huge boxes were delivered. Why three you ask? One was for the HP printer, one was for the Kodak printer and one was full of printing supplies and paper. After completing my dance of joy it was time to open them up.

Here’s the HP Photosmart C6380.

Now here’s a look at the Kodak ESP 7.

The Kodak is larger and heavier than the HP. Both arrived well packed. Both came with a clear and concise quick start sheet of instructions as well as a big book. I chose to use the quick start directions. Both of the printers were easy to put together. The HP was easy to get out of the box and I was easily able to find and unfasten all of the pieces of tape that hold it still in the box. The Kodak did have a few pieces of tape that were challenging to get at and one that I completely missed on my first pass. Appearance wise the family was divided. TJ liked the look of the Kodak because it’s black. I like the Kodak’s black color as well because it may hide wear better. On the other hand it will show fingerprints much more than the HP.  I liked the design of the HP because it’s buttons are easily visible from the chair at the desk.

Stay tuned. The next installment will be on set up and installation.
