The premise of How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days is simple. Andie Anderson (Kate Hudson), a writer, sets out to write a story (based upon a history of actions taken by one of her closes friends) about the things women do to drive men they date away. She sets out to meet and date a man that she can send running in the other direction within 10 days. At the same time Ben Barry (Matthew McConaughey),  a womanizing advertising exec, is promised the opportunity to pitch a big campaign if he can make a woman fall in love with him within 10 days. Two female execs from his firm push him into dating the writer.

Once the pair starts dating hilarity ensues. I watched this comedy with RB and we both enjoyed it very much. I was young, single and silly once but never left 19 messages on a person’s answering machine in one day! Andie’s antics are funny and at times, extreme. There were a couple of points where I actually felt badly for Ben, even though I knew he wasn’t being honest about the relationship either.

Other cast members include Kathryn Hahn, Annie Parisse, Adam Goldberg, Thomas Lennon, Michael Michele, Shalom Harlow, Robert Klein and Bebe Neuwirth.

The disc also contains special features including:

  • Commentary by director Donald Petrie
  • How to Make a Movie in 2 Years (HD)
  • Why the Sexes Battle (HD)
  • Girls Night Out (HD)
  • Music Video: “Somebody Like You” by Keith Urban
  • Deleted Scenes with optional commentary by director Donald Petrie
