DOLE Fruit Parfaits review and contest

We all like to snack in our house. Because it always seems like somebody’s got something to do or somewhere to be, I try to buy snacks that are convenient and healthier than junk food. By keeping one shelf with just these on it everyone knows where to find “Mom approved” snack. Two of the most popular snacks include pudding cups and fruit cups. Hoping to find some tasty new options, I gladly accepted an offer to review a new food product – DOLE Fruit Parfaits.

I received the DOLE Fruit Parfaits in the Apples & Crème flavor for this review. The parfait comes in a 4.3 ounce cup, which I think makes it the ideal size for a snack to eat at home or take to work.

The parfait has two layers – fruit on the top and the crème on the bottom. They do not have to be refrigerated, but you can do so if you wish.

While similar in size to a fruit cup, the taste and texture of the DOLE Fruit Parfait is different. The crème on the bottom reminds me of a yogurt or a pudding. These are nowhere near as syrupy sweet as some fruit cups. Also, they’re not full of that juice that I always manage to spill everywhere when I open a fruit cup. I preferred my parfait chilled as opposed to room temperature.

DOLE Fruit Parfaits come in four flavors - Peaches & Creme, Pineapple & Creme, Apples & Creme and Mandarins & Creme. There are four 4.3 ounce cups per package and each cup has 110-130 calories (depending on which flavor it is). They are available in most stores where grocery items are found.
