Daniel X – Watch The Skies Book Review

Last summer I reviewed a book entitled The Dangerous Days Of Daniel X, by James Patterson, on Val’s Views. The Dangerous Days was the beginning of a series Patterson had started writing with the specific purpose of getting young boys to want to read. I wonder if he realized how many girls (and moms) would want to read as well.
I received Daniel X – Watch The Skies as a member of MotherTalk. The second in the series, Daniel X – Watch The Skies picks up where Dangerous Days left off. While I think it’s even better if you have read the first, the book can stand alone for those that haven’t read the first.
In this book we find Daniel still using his powers to change form, move objects and create people. He’s still trying to seek revenge for his parent’s death and fighting evil. His nemesis this time around is the alien Number Five. Number Five has decided to use the town of Holliswood for his own Survivor style reality show. His plan is to wipe out all of the contestants and if he succeeds he’ll continue playing until he fulfills his goal of wiping out everyone on the face of the earth.
Once again I couldn’t stop reading this page turner until the end. Better words could not have been chosen to bring the story home and allow the reader to see it in his mind. I love the short chapters because I think they really quicken the pace and keep the reader glued. I can envision boys in their beds thinking “just one more chapter”. What a terrific book! I can totally see a movie being made from this series.
Daniel X: Watch the Skies is now available at Barnes and Noble, Walmart, and other leading book retailers for the suggested retail price of $19.99.

I agree. I doubt if this will ever be a movie though–it is for the imagination.
