Growing up I didn’t always like or appreciate my Mom. It took becoming a parent and an adult to appreciate her. I swore I’d never be like her and I almost fainted the first time I heard her words come out of my mouth. Now, I don’t know what I’d do without her. When RB, TJ, my Dad or one of my younger brothers tell me I’m just like my mother I tell them that there are worse people I could be like. Enjoying the bond I have with my Mom, it seemed fitting to accept the opportunity to review the book Chicken Soup For The Soul - Like Mother, Like Daughter.
From the publisher - “From borrowed outfits to goofy mannerisms, there is a time when most women must sheepishly admit, “I’m turning into my mother.” But while our uncanny connections can draw us closer, sometimes these similarities can drive us up the wall. Chicken Soup for the Soul: Like Mother, Like Daughter provides a collection of stories written by moms and daughters on maternal wisdom, raising teenage girls, becoming friends with Mom, grandmothers, granddaughters, and more.”
Chicken Soup For The Soul - Like Mother, Like Daughter is a compilation of the best 101 stories by, for and about mothers and daughters. The stories are broken down into categories - The Magical Bond, Mutual Support, Learning From Each Other, Always There For Each Other, Gratitude, Saying Goodbye, Through The Generations, Special Mother-Daughter Moments, Funny Mother-Daughter Moments and Like Grandmother, Like Mother, Like Daughter. What I liked best about the book is that it’s all light reading. Although they all share a broad theme, motherhood, each of the stories is different enough to remain interesting. “Never Enough” is simply amazing. “The True Lesson Of Homework” reminded me of my Mom and my son TJ. “Starring On The Six O’Clock News” reminded me of myself when I was younger, defying my own mother. “Clothes Closet Reflections” was amusing and “Missing Pieces” almost miraculous. I really enjoyed the book and will be sharing it with my Mom.

My mother, my daughter and I are alike in that we love adventure. We are all curious and kind find fun anywhere. We love to experience new things, learn new things and explore. When we hit a bump or face some sort of adversity, we can always find humor in the situation. I love them both SO dearly.

After becoming a mom 7 months ago I find that I am exactly like my mom, I am even raising my daughter the same way she raised me. We did not see eye to eye until I had a baby of my own. I love you mom!
My daughter is like me in that she is a tough cookie.
My daughter is like me because we both make lists to keep us on tract, help us to not forget. We both like to cook, crochet, needlecraft. She enjoys doing things with her daughters as I did with her.
My oldest daughter and I are complete opposites - she is like my husband. My littlest is like me.
