Banana Nut Cheerios review and giveaway

| Wed 03-11-09

I’m often curious about new flavors because I wonder if the food will really taste like the food the company says it tastes like. Sometimes it does, sometimes not so much. The folks at MyBlogSpark were nice enough to send me a Banana Nut Cheerios gift basket so I got a chance to find out if new Banana Nut Cheerios taste like bananas.

In short, it does. I was really afraid I might not like this cereal because I do not like nuts. When my Mom makes homemade banana nut bread I pick out the nuts. I am pleased to say that the cereal tasted like bananas and didn’t overwhelmingly taste like nuts. Even better than that, the cereal didn’t have that nasty fake flavor we’ve all encountered at one time or another.

Banana Nut Cheerios makes a great meal or snack. At 150 calories for a single ¾ cup serving of combined with skim milk this cereal is sweet enough to satisfy without packing on pounds. These Cheerios, like the original, are made from whole grains including corn and oats. They’re also a good source of vitamin D, calcium and iron and can help reduce the risk or heart disease. You can learn more about Banana Nut Cheerios by visiting www.banananutcheerios.com, where you will also find coupons and recipes.
