At Home and Back To School – Introduction To FUJI EnviroMAX Batteries And A Giveaway

It seems like everything needs batteries. Imagine all the batteries you and your family have used. It’s a lot right? You threw them away, right? We did. I never noticed that some battery packages specifically state not to throw dead batteries away. I never gave any thought to what happens to dead batteries and what effect they can have on the environment.
Fuji has come out with a line of batteries that has been designed to be “eco-respectful”. Fuji EnviroMAX batteries are mercury free, cadmium free and PVC free, and will be able to be disposed of safely in most landfills. The new line will consist of Super Alkaline batteries for applications such as toys, radios, or flashlights and Digital Alkaline batteries for use in high drain electronic devices such as digital cameras, remotes and video games. The batteries will be packaged in over 75% recycled and recyclable materials. Manufacturing of the batteries is being done under strict standards of environmental responsibility – no ozone-depleting compounds are emitted during manufacture and most of the resources used in the manufacturing process are reused and recycled. The EnviroMAX line promises to equal or exceed the performance and lifespan of the major brands of regular batteries while remaining competitively priced.

Fuji EnviroMAX batteries are available nationwide this month. The Super Alkaline batteries are available in AA, AAA, C and D sizes and have a suggested retail price of $3.99. The Digital Alkaline batteries are available in AA and AAA and have a suggested retail price of $5.99. They are available at all ACO, ACE and Do It Best hardware stores; Big Y Stores (Massachusetts), Kings Supermarkets (New Jersey), Shop’ n Save (St. Louis) and many other chains. Target started carrying the batteries on July 26.
Fuji EnviroMAX batteries can also be ordered online direct from the company at http://www.greenfuji.com/.
