I read an article today about a student that will be receiving a national award. I found it inspiring and it brought a few tears to my eyes, which is what reminded me it was once again time to Share Some Good Stuff with my friend Skeet. This is my feel good news story for this week.

The article I read is about Sarah Wilkins of Circleville, OH, who is one of 28 students nationwide that will receiving a “Yes I Can Award” from the Council for Exceptional Children.  The Council for Exceptional Children is an organization that recognizes children with disabilities. Sarah is an honor roll student that is receiving her award in the area of academics because she not only participates in main stream classes but often leads them. Sarah has Down Syndrome.  She has inspired fellow students to try harder to master skills and lessons they find challenging. Sarah likes to stay busy so she is also active in sports and works in the library during her study halls. Sarah will receive her award at a luncheon in Ohio and has been invited to join other winners for a ceremony in Boston which she’d like to go to if the funds can be raised to cover travel expenses. Congratulations Sarah on a great job!
