Would someone get the lights
On occasion I have mentioned my truck, and some of the problems that I’m having with it. The major problems that currently exist are no heat, no air, no defrost, and a leak in some gasket (maybe the head gasket if I remember correctly, it fouls the spark plugs and causes one heck of a miss so it doesn’t run on all eight cylinders). In the past, every once in a while the door ajar dashboard light would come on and the interior lights would remain on, but the problem was easily fixed by opening and closing the drivers side door. Well tonight the interior lights have decided they will not go off. My son noticed they were still on over twenty minutes after I’d gotten home. Hubby went out and tried to get them to go off but nothing worked. For a minute I wondered if someone had connected them to some fiber optic cables or something, but obviously that’s just silly. I called my Dad and he said there should be a 30 minute shut off built in, so for now we’re waiting it out.

I think the leak is probably not the head gasket, but the gasket over the valves (the official name which escapes me right now)…because if it’s the head gasket, you may as well just give up. I had a head gasket leak…shortly there after, the head actually cracked, and I was stuck with a minivan that I still owed over 11K for…ick.

Oh my! All of this happen at once or just over time..hehe. Are you able to get it fixed yet? I know some of these things can be pricey, but you need heat…well, if you are in a colder climate.
Good luck with the truck, I know what it is like to have a vehicle on the fritz!

No, we cannot afford to get it fixed right now, The air went last summer, we turned it on and got heat. We thought we’d be ok come winter but we turned it on expecting heat and got air. To have the heat and air fixed requires taking the entire front dash and console out, which means extensive man hours for labor which is what costs.
The leaky thing is also expensive and not doable right now so my Dad will just clean out where it leaks and change the fouled wires as soon as we have a day that it’s warm enough.
