What I can do to save water

I’ve been trying to wait until we redo the original bathroom to replace the bathroom faucets that are currently in there. Best as I can tell, the insides are stripped. Or something. As a result, when I turn on hot water I don’t get any hot water unless I turn the knob all of the way. If you turn both knobs just a little, only a trickle of water comes out. It takes five minutes, literally, to get my son TJ’s shower water ready. The water is always either too hot or too cold. The water it wastes must be incredible. Today we’re going to give at least one of the cats, maybe both, a bath. I usually wash the cats in the kitchen sink, but had been debating using the tub because my knee’s been bothering me. Rather than waste the time and water, I’ll use the new bathroom today. Anyway, the point is, today I started thinking of what I can do to save water.

I already turn the water off while I’m brushing, but my son doesn’t despite the fact I’ve reminded him many times. So I have to work harder at getting him to remember that. I only run the dishwasher when it’s full, which is still pretty much every day in our house. We only wash full loads of laundry. We get our cars washed at the car wash. So, the biggest thing I know I can do off the top of my head is to replace those tub faucets. Is there anything more you can do to save water?
