Trip off to a rough start
We arrived in Watkins Glen, NY in the wee hours this morning. We got a rough start yesterday. We had been driving down the road and I saw something fluttering in my right mirror. The outer skin of the trailer door had lifted. I called my Dad on the cell and before I could even pullover and stop I saw it twist and half of the door flew off onto the side of the road. I didn’t think it would be safe to drive 300 miles that way so I turned around and went home. RB and our neighbor taped what was left of the door and I set on my way again. I didn’t come up here last year because of my surgery. A highway had been put right where I was planning to get gas. It was late and I saw an open Dominos pizza so we stopped and asked where the nearest gas station was because the low fuel light had been on for 15 minutes. We found ourselves on a dead end street. I don’t recall mentioning that I cannot back up my trailer. So when I realized I couldn’t turn around I started freaking out that I was going to run out of gas in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. TJ was calm and told me not to think negative and helped guide me through backing up and turning around. I think we just made it to the gas station in time. Then we had to stop at the all night Walmart for new bedding because hubby had never brought the bedding in after our last trip. Who knows what’s in store for us today.

Ok, you had your bump in the road, now it will be smooth sailing from here on out. At least when you got back home you got to see the progress on the painting. Wink wink.
