Too much information at work

In case you don’t know, medical billing is part of my job. Sometimes I speak with insurance companies, sometimes I speak with patients. It never ceases to amaze me what strangers will tell people over the telephone. I asked one woman about her past due bill and she told me about her yeast infection, with descriptive detail. Gross! I would have much preferred to hear about psoriasis treatment or something with a lot less personal information. Why do these people tell me these things? What is the grossest thing someone you don’t know has ever told you?
