Standard baby shower gifts

When I was pregnant with my first son TJ I was given two baby showers, one at work and one for family. My sister in law’s baby shower yesterday was the first baby shower I’ve been to in a while. She got lots of nice things but she didn’t get two things that I consider basics – a baby book and a photo album. I received a couple of each. This was the first baby shower I’ve been to where the mother didn’t receive one or both of these.

I wanted my sister in law to have a baby book so I went out today and hit Target, Walmart, Kmart and Kohls and couldn’t find a baby book anywhere. I’ll be checking Burlington Coat Factory Baby Depot tomorrow.
