Promoting your blog in person

While I was in the waiting room out in Philadelphia today I was speaking with two other parents. In the course of the discussion I happened to mention that I have several blogs online. One of the women sort of tilted her head and asked me what I meant. I explained what a blog was and she told me she’d never read one but it sounded interesting. She asked how to find mine and I gave her the url to this blog. But then I decided it might be helpful if I were prepared for this question if it, or one like it, arose again. I think I need a new set of business cards. Without a doubt I’ll get them from Vistaprint.

Vistaprint has the biggest selection of affordable personal and business printing needs. They carry everything you can think of to help you promote whatever it is you want to promote. I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s worth mentioning again. I have personally been thrilled with any Vistaprint product I’ve ever ordered. I’ve ordered large postcards, large calendar magnets, small magnets, business cards and address stickers. Over the years Vistaprint has expanded their product line to include rubber stamps, checks, pens, clothing, note cards, invitations and announcements and car door magnets. Their products are easily personalized, with customization of designs, fonts, images, colors and text available. If you need to promote something without spending a lot of money, go check out Vistaprint. Be sure to check their page for specials, they usually have some good ones.

At one time, military spouses used a “calling card” which basically was just a pretty business-sized card with their name on it. Whenever they attended any type of function, there would be a dish where you could put your card. In this day and age, the calling card is really no longer necessary…but a good business card is.

I had mine made up with Vista Print (I also had my husband’s cards made up, and he prefers the more refined look to the ones he used to print up himself). When I was deciding what to put on my card (almost 2 years ago) I decided to put everything…whatever way anyone could contact me…AND my blog address.

It’s been a boon. Many people come to my blog after receiving my card for other purposes (oh, you need my email? Here’s my card. My cell? It’s on this card…hee hee hee!)

It’s a great idea, and since Vista Print has GREAT deals all the time, this is a great post.

Thanks Linda! I LOVE Vistaprint, seriously. It’s funny, I know many people include their cell on their cards now but I’m such a pain in the arse, I hate giving mine out because I don’t want just anyone calling it during the day while I’m at work (I leave that for emergencies).
