On presenting myself
I rarely buy presents for myself. Anyone that knows me knows that I don’t spend money on myself. The only thing I’ve bought for myself in a very long time is the laptop I got about two months ago, my Macbook Pro. Now I am faced with the decision on if I should buy myself something again.
About three years ago my friend gave me an iPod Mini for Christmas. I have used it almost every day since. It’s been well used, and these days I can only listen to it when it’s on the dock because the battery won’t hold a charge for more than a few minutes. When I got that iPod, I also got a charger/adapter for my car that plugged in to my cigarette lighter. The plug arm is adjustable and two weeks ago when setting it up for a trip to Philadelphia I moved the arm in the wrong direction and it broke the wiring, making it no good. So basically, everything needs to be replaced. I’ve been doing a lot of browsing looking for a great deal.

A potential solution to my problem presented itself today when I found an item on sale in the weekly deals at Buy.com. I found a 4gb iPod Nano on sale for just $99 that holds more than the iPod that I have now. If I bought that I could retire the iPod I have now, and I’d have something to listen to at home and at work. I thought I’d found a reasonably priced solution to my problem but realized I’d still have no way to listen in the car. Feeling bummed and thinking there was no new iPod in my future, I decided to keep browsing anyway. Birthdays and anniversaries are coming up in my family and I have to start shopping. You can’t imagine how surprised I was when I found a wireless fm music adapter on sale for $10! This adapter works on batteries, so it can even be connected to a home stereo. It connects to anything with a headphone jack, which means it could also be used with my son’s cd player and portable dvd player. It seems like I’ve found a perfect solution. Both items ship for free too, so that saves more money. So, who thinks I should buy myself a little present? I do! I do!

You should definitely treat yourself
I am all for the self-gifting, and it sounds like you already keep it to a min. as it is.
Laurie – thanks for visiting. I do. I’ve never been able to justify spending a lot on myself.
