Sucks that he has to have the ones that goes over his ears. My friend has been wearing hearing aids for lord knows how long and his are in both of his ears instead of outside. They look like little teardrops almost. Maybe they couldn't do that with your child becase he is still growing? I'm not sure there is much that could be done to stop a child from taking anything off if they put there mind to it. Although I was lucky enough to get contacts in the 5th grade after I had already been wearing glasses for 3-4 years prior so I was thrilled and very consciencenous about not losing or taking them out because first and foremost I wouldn't be able to see so I'd assume you could put the same logic to him about not hearing anything and how dangerous it could be.
