GoodSearch is some Good Stuff

If you’re a new reader to this blog then you may not know about the weekly roundup my buddy Skeet does on her blog called Share Some Good Stuff. Anyone can join, all they have to do is find some good news from their own area, write about it and send it to her. I don’t think I’ve missed a week yet, because I think it’s a really good idea.

Many fellow bloggers become, shall we say, disenchanted with Google after they adminsitered their most recent googlespank. Some say they are turning to other search engines.  I hadn’t done that just yet but had been entertaining the thought. I’d only gotten as far as removing my Adsense. After all, I wasn’t making squat from it anyway. Anyway. Earlier this week I found something that changed my mind for me, and I switched. I found out about GoodSearch. GoodSearch is a search engine that is powered by Yahoo.  But it has an aspect of it that is very different than Yahoo. Each time you use GoodSearch, a contribution is made to a charity of your choice, which in my case is Family Resource Associates of NJ.

Family Resource Associates, or FRA if you’re familiar with them, is a nonprofit agency that serves my area. They provide support and services to people with disabilities and their families. Some of the programs they offer include early intervention, education, a variety of therapy programs, dance programs, assistive technology programs and support groups.

I can’t think of a reason anyone wouldn’t want to use GoodSearch. You can pick from over 50,000 charities to benefit from your surfing. If you’ve tried Yahoo search you’ll feel comfortable with GoodSearch. If you’re mad at Google, feel free to show it in a constructive manner. Use GoodSearch and someone else will benefit from your clicking, rather than the big G. Someone that needs it. Google doesn’t need more money. But these nonprofits, they need all the money they can get to try and accomplish their missions of helping those who need it. And hey. If enough people used this maybe Adsense clicks would drop because people were using Google search less and then they’d pay attention, because apparently Adsense is the only way it’s acceptable to make money on a blog without getting spanked. But I digress.  Please check out GoodSearch and help someone today.

Wow! This is great to know about! I too have been using Adsense and not making money. I have also been interested in the world beyond Google.

I love the idea of giving to a charity of my choice every time I use GoodSearch.

    Thanks for the information!
