Commercials are just advertisements
I’ve mentioned before that my twelve year old sometimes breaks out with acne. We’ve told him many times that this is normal and that he has to keep clean and maintain a regular routine. Does he listen? Not as much as we’d like. Last night we tried talking to him about the current breakout that’s taking place. He replied by once again asking us to buy an expensive product that they advertise on tv. I told him I wanted him to try some of the things here first. He got mad. Want to know why? Because he said those acne treatments wouldn’t work overnight like the advertised one. That’s one thing I don’t like about tv, kids don’t understand that not everything they see is true. Once again I explained that nothing works over night and that you cannot believe much of what’s shown on tv because commercials are just advertisements for things for sale. After much repeating myself, he finally agreed to try some of the things I’ve picked up. Now let’s see if he listens and remembers it has to be a routine, not a one time thing.
