Camp is how far away?
My son joined the Boy Scouts last month. The week after he joined he informed us he thought he wanted to go to the Boy Scout summer camp. Now the first bad thing about that is that camp (which is one week) costs $230 if you register early, $250 if you register pretty much any time after he told us. The second bad thing is where the camp is located. We have a Boy Scout camp less than an hour from here, but the camp that the troop is going to is about six hours west of here, in another state. I think that’s just too far for a twelve year old to be from home for a week. I know it isn’t like it’s on a piece of Wilmington real estate down in North Carolina, but for me Pennsylvania is just as far. What is the purpose of going to camp so far away when there are perfectly good camps closer to home? And they’re less expensive too. I’m just sayin.
